Monthly Activity Callendar Coming Soon
To many elderly and handicapped residents of Rhode Island, Alternative Adult Care is a "home for the day". It gives adults and seniors in need of daytime care a place to socialize, relax, excercise, learn, dine and participate in several activities.
Caregivers are given time to work, tend to business, or recharge their batteries, knowing their loved one is well cared for in a safe environment. Participants are enabled to remain in their community.
Alternative Adult Care Center is open Monday Through Friday, from 7:30AM to 3:00PM. Participants may attend one to five days a week. At least two days per week is recommended for attendance.
The Center does have extended hours in the afternoon until 4:00PM for an additional fee.
Services Offered:
Registered nurse in attendance daily
Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks
Appropriate daily excercise
Transportation in wheelchair lift vans
Activities, outings, current events discussions for mental stimulation
Counceling and referral to other available services
Financial Assistance available to those eligible
To attend our Day Center, we require a current physical examination prior to starting the program. Physicans orders are also required if medications are to be administred by the nurse at the center.
Alternative Adult Care accepts R.I. Medicaid, long-term care insurance, private payments, Respite Assistance through the Diocese of Providence and the R.I. Department of Elderly Affairs Home and Community Care Co-Pay Program.
